On March 2nd, Surrey’s Taj Park Convention Center witnessed a heartwarming evening of reflection and generosity as the Muslim Food Bank hosted its annual fundraising dinner, "Igniting the Spirit of Giving." The event brought together community members, supporters, and dignitaries for an inspiring night aimed at supporting the organization's vital operations across Canada.

Guests were treated to a memorable evening filled with insightful speeches, exquisite Islamic art, and a delectable three-course dinner. The highlight of the evening was the presence of esteemed Guest Speaker Shaykh Riad Ouarzazi, whose powerful message resonated deeply with attendees, emphasizing the importance of giving back during Ramadan.

"We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support shown by our community," said Azim Dahya, Volunteer CEO at the Muslim Food Bank. "The success of this event underscores the unwavering commitment of individuals to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need."

The fundraising dinner featured an Islamic art auction, a silent auction, and organizational speeches, all aimed at raising funds to sustain the Muslim Food Bank's operations. Through the collective efforts of attendees and donors, the event surpassed expectations by raising over $150,000.

"These funds will play a pivotal role in our ongoing efforts to alleviate hunger and support marginalized communities across Canada," added Azim Dahya.
